About me

I bring together my training as a coach, years of Kung Fu and Qigong, and experience in legal and business roles. Each has shaped how I work with people.

My story

What movement has taught me

Flow & Focus Coaching grew out of my own search for a calmer, more fulfilling life and the freedom to follow my heart. Movement has always been a passion of mine. Years of Kung Fu, Qigong and meditation have shown me how closely our thoughts, feelings and physical responses are connected.

I’ve learned that progress doesn’t always come from pushing harder. Sometimes I need to slow down and notice what’s happening before I know what to do next. I still practice this myself. We all lose our balance at times; what helps is recognizing it and adjusting, without expecting ourselves to get everything right.

That’s also how I work as a coach. We take time to understand what’s going on, then try things you can use in everyday life. The aim is to help you live and act in ways that feel right to you.

My background

The experience I bring

My work draws on three areas: coaching and ACT, martial arts, and nine years in legal and business roles.

Coaching expertise

Coaching and ACT

I completed ICM’s NOBCO-accredited coaching program and further training with ACT in Actie. I’ve also trained in personal leadership, communication and teaching professional training courses.

ACT is central to my approach. It helps you handle difficult thoughts and feelings without waiting for them to disappear before you do something that matters to you. We practice noticing your reactions and choosing how you want to respond.

Body and movement

Kung Fu, Qigong and personal development

I spent more than two and a half years living and training full-time at Kung Fu schools in Japan, China and Thailand. My training included Kung Fu, Qigong and meditation. In Thailand, I earned my teaching certificate and taught for a year.

Those years have had a lasting influence on my coaching. Kung Fu and Qigong taught me about discipline, boundaries, balance and adapting to change. I draw on that experience through simple exercises that help you notice physical tension and feel what happens when you respond differently.

Organizations

Experience in the business world

I have nine years of experience as a legal advisor and privacy officer, both as an employee and running my own business. I’ve worked with IT companies, legal consultancies, law firms, international automotive companies and government bodies. I understand the demands of specialist advisory work and large, complex organizations.

I know how demanding work can be, and how easy it is to keep going when you’re already feeling tense or exhausted. That experience informs my coaching on work stress, burnout prevention, boundaries and taking ownership of how you work.

How I work

Warm and personal. Clear and practical.

I listen carefully, ask direct questions and work at a pace that suits you. Alongside our conversations, we use ACT, reflection and body-based or practical exercises when they help.
