Martial arts have taught me that effort alone isn’t enough. When you’re constantly tense, it’s harder to move freely or respond quickly. You learn to notice where you’re holding tension, find your balance and move when the moment is right.
I see the same thing in everyday life. When you’re overwhelmed or keep repeating the same patterns, it’s tempting to push yourself harder. In coaching, we pause to understand those patterns and what triggers them. You can then start responding differently, instead of slipping into the same habits.
I use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), an evidence-based approach that helps you handle difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them run your life. We explore what matters to you and how to act on it, even when you feel uncertain. That could mean saying no, easing the pressure to be perfect or taking a first step toward something you’ve been putting off.
